
Biography as Argument was an oral history project organized by International Youth Meeting Centre from Auschwitz, University of Bielefeld (Germany), and Jagiellonian University of Krakow (Poland). Oral history can be defined as the recording, preservation and interpretation of historical information, based on the personal experiences and opinions of the speaker. Project was leaded by Anna Musioł, Dobrochna Kałwa, Bettina Dausien and Johannes Shröder.

The orange/red photomontage was created from scanned documents which I got from Tadeusz Sobolewicz. I used scanned documents in Polish and German languages to show that his life story was determined by the history of both of these countries.

Survivor syndrome (also KZ syndrome) is a phrase which has been used to describe the set of shared reactions and behaviours of people who have survived a massive and adverse event, such as the Holocaust in Nazi Germany. Many survivors of the death camps have developed post-traumatic stress disorder.
